Union Powder

About Us

Our Brand Story

Union’s journey began in 1999 as a family business with a visionary approach to surface finishing. Initially focused on liquid coatings, we transitioned to powder coatings in 2000 to address technical challenges and meet niche market demands. Our partnership with industry pioneers like BASF catalyzed our growth, allowing us to develop cutting-edge solutions for multiple industries.

In 2018, Union expanded into the master batch market and achieved exponential growth. By 2022, we will have solidified our global presence through a joint venture with a German company, elevating our capabilities to new heights. Today, we are proud to serve thousands of clients worldwide, offering tailored, high-performance solutions that protect and beautify surfaces across industries.

OUR PRODUCTS

Epoxies were the first widely used powders. They are very durable, offer excellent hardness and have arguably the best chemical and corrosion resistance of all available powders. Another plus of this type of powder is its ease of use and a wide range of cure schedules. Epoxies adhere to metals extremely well, with various pretreatments of the metal providing excellent adhesion, including phosphate coating and sandblasting.

Epoxies and polyesters are often mixed together to form hybrids. These hybrids remain closely related to pure epoxies but offer superior weather degradation properties. These hybrids can be mixed in various ratios to emphasize the characteristics of either the epoxy or polyester.

Union provides a single-coat system that delivers performance equivalent to a two-layer powder coat system. With its highly durable corrosion resistance technology, this system enables you to attain exceptional protection against corrosion and excellent UV protection with just one

Powder coatings with metallic elements are widely used and increasingly gaining popularity.

Polyesters

Polyesters are the most commonly used powders and offer great value for money. The two most widely used types of polyester powder: TGIC (tri glycidyl isocyanurate) and non-TGIC, which is also known as TGIC-free or sometimes a ‘Primid’. Both TGIC and TGIC-free polyesters offer good mechanical resistance, including great flexibility and impact resistance, and good chemical resistance. One draw of this powder is its low cure temperature.
